Update!

So, it's been 9 weeks since Jonathan's hip surgery. It was pretty rough the first 3 weeks but we got through it. He's doing a lot better now and down to only one crutch. He still has physical therapy once a week and is able to walk normal without a crutch for a short period. He still has a long way to go with his recovery but things are sort of looking up. Fingers crossed that he continues to do good.

Surgery!

Jonathan will be having arthroscopic hip surgery Thursday at Baptist Hospital to fix a torn labrum and to shave down some of the hip bone. He will go through intensive rehab afterwards and there will be a 4 month recovery time for this type of surgery. This surgery is worse than having a total hip replacement according to the surgeon. Please keep Jonathan, myself & Coen in your thoughts and prayers as we get get through this difficult time.

Planting flowers

Saturday was a great day to be outside. Now that spring is here I decided to plant some flowers and I had a great little helper by my side. I had bought Coen his very own gardening gloves, small shovel, rake and watering bucket. He did a great job helping me. Here a some pictures.

Then later on that afternoon Coen was running up the driveway and fell. This was the end results of the fall. His knee is all scraped up and was swollen for a coupe of days.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

When the circus was here in town we decided to take Coen this year. It was a fun day for all of us. I have to say that I was very excited about the circus too because it was my first time as well as Coen's. Coen really enjoyed seeing all the animals and the different acts that went on. My favorite were the elephants. I took lots of pictures of them, you will notice all the elephant pictures on this post. I have to say that Coen was pretty interested in the glow in the dark people on stilts, which you will see towards the end of the pictures. We were a little worried that Coen wouldn't like the clowns but he did good and never got scared. If you know Coen, he doesn't do well with Santa, Easter bunny, Chick-Fil-A cow, Bolt (the mascot for W-S Dash baseball) or anything else of that nature.

Wow! I can't believe our baby boy is already 3! Where does the time go these days? This year for Coen's birthday he had a Mickey Mouse party at the The Children's Museum of Winston Salem. He had several friends to join him and they all had fun. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Hopefully the year 2011 will go by a little slower before he turns four in a blink of an eye, I doubt it! On a side note, I did not make Coen's birthday cake this year :-(.

Cake!

This year for Coen's birthday I had decided to let someone else make his cake for his birthday party. It was eating at me that I wasn't making it myself. So he helped me make him a giant cupcake for our little family get together for his 3rd birthday. Coen had decided he wanted to help with his cake. He also requested a blue cake so that's what we made. Here are pictures of him helping me.
