A day at the Zoo

Today we took a trip the NC Zoo. Jonathan & I haven't been in a really long time & of course it was Coen's first time to the zoo. We had such a great day & I must say it was very Hot! It was 90 degrees in Asheboro today. You would have thought it was the middle of summer already. We survived the heat & the best part was that we ended up getting in the zoo for FREE. When we arrived & was making our way to the entrance, a young couple our age come up to us and asked if we wanted two free tickets to get in, they had two extra tickets. We obviously said yes because Coen was free to get in anyway & we thanked them very much. Coen had a blast & all the animals were out & about today which made for great picture taking. We had so much fun & I can't wait to go back again.

The Giraffe's-our favorite animal & best picture of the whole trip

another great picture of a giraffe

some really cool birds

I have never seen such bright red birds like this this. They were even more beautiful in person

the ostrich & zebras-they must get along pretty good since they are mingling together

Coen trying to find the grizzly bear

He finally came out from the shade to play right in front of us & Coen got a good look at him. Do you see the claws on him......Holly Cow!!

here he is taking a swim, I don't blame him because it was extremely hot

Our last stop of the day & one more favorite animal of mine, the polar bear. I have always loved them. He was the only one they had & here he is napping

Coen was pooped at the end of the day

and before leaving the zoo Coen got a shirt from the gift shop along with a water globe to add to our collection of places we have visited
