I have completed course one

So, the last four weeks I have been taking a cake decorating class. I love to bake & have always wanted to do all kinds of cakes including wedding cakes & fondant cakes. Maybe someday I can hold a career in this. There are 3 more courses that I need to take but I think overall that I've done pretty well with my cakes. I still have a lot to learn & still need to practice on certain things. I finished up the last class tonight & received a certificate of merit. Here are the pictures of my cakes so far.

This one is from my last class in course one (just to let you know, the dots & wording are purple, not black) My lettering is a little crooked, gotta practice on that.

Jonathan & Dwayne's Father's Day cake

Dad's Father's Day cake

For those who don't know my dad, he is big into bbq cooking competitions & catering so this theme suited him well. He really liked it.

Spaghetti face!

Yum....spaghetti ! That's what we had for dinner last night. We normally don't let Coen feed himself when it's something real messy because the clean up is a pain in the rear, but last night I thought, why not! He ate most of it & enjoyed using his spoon to make noises with the bowl. I am sure glad I stripped him down to nothing but a diaper because it was on the floor, all over him as you can see, down in his diaper & probably some on the wall beside him. After he was finished I pretty much had to take him straight to the bath tub. The pictures don't look as messy as it really was. You just didn't see the bottom of his char & the floor. I'm just thankful to have such a wonderful husband because Jonathan cleaned it all up plus all the dishes while I gave Coen a bath. Our dog Duke missed out on this one. He normally waits under Coen's highchair for crumbs but he was to busy bunny watching out the window this time. We seem to have 2 bunnies hanging around our house now so he barks at them all the time. Anyway, here are a few pictures of our MESSY MARVIN eating spaghetti.

Playing Putt-Putt

This past weekend we took Coen to play putt-putt. He did really well with staying on course from one hole to the next. Like most kids do, he liked picking up the ball & dropping it down in the hole. Jonathan showed Coen how to hold the club & hit the ball, but he was more interested in chasing the ball after it was hit. Hopefully Coen will pick up on golf & enjoy it like his daddy does. Coen was wore out after hole 16, so there was nobody in front of us & we went straight onto hole 18 to let him drop the ball down the pipe. We got a free round to play again so maybe next time he will make it to all 18 holes. Here are some pictures of Coen's putt-putt adventure along with 2 videos.

Hanging out in Coen's room

The other night Jonathan & I were just hanging out with Coen as he played in his room. There was no tv on & we just listened to Coen talk to himself. I just love to sit and listen to him babble & make new sounds. Some of them are so funny. He is such a happy baby. These are the moments I cherish the most because there's no distractions. So, here are some pictures of the 3 of us just hanging out in his room.

Jonathan & I don't seem to have any pictures of just us, so here is one!

Bubble Bath

Coen has now had an official bubble bath. I finally bought some actual bubble bath to use instead of using his baby wash, which doesn't really make lots of suds. We tried it out a while back. I've just been slack here lately about posting anything. He had lots of fun splashing around in the soap suds & clapping his hands together in it. Here are the pictures.

Helping nana with the strawberry's

Today nana & grandpa got to watch Coen for a bit while I had a date with my hair stylist. Jonathan had to work this morning so I took Coen with me to the hair salon & nana picked him up there & took him back to her house. When I got back to the house Coen was helping nana do strawberry's. He was so cute in just an old, extremely over sized t-shirt, standing in a chair up at the bar watching & helping. Nana said he was eating strawberry's as fast as she could cut them up. Eating them was his way of helping. He also was trying to eat them with a fork. He has gotten better at using a spoon or fork. He's growing up too fast for me. Anyway, here are just a few cute pictures.

I just love his big blue eye's

Just some random pictures

Here are just some random pictures of Coen & a few from Easter that I never posted.

Coen & I were being silly but the picture actually turned out cute...he is so sweet

Coen has found a new game he likes to play called "squish me". He likes to position himself behind you on the couch & pull you back towards him so that you will squish him. He thinks it's so funny. Here's Coen being squished by grandma mimi.

The next 3 pictures are from Easter.

Coen thought that riding in his wheel barrel was way more fun than pushing it. Grammy & I were taking turns wheeling him around in the yard.

he was trying to catch them

and last but not least, here is Coen sitting in the refrigerator. This is what he like's to do when we are putting up grocery's.

Trouble Maker

Here lately Coen has been waking up in the mornings an hour an a half earlier than usual. Jonathan & I didn't feel like getting up as soon as Coen did this morning so we brought him to bed with us & turned noggin on ( a cartoon channel). He watched it for about 5 minutes then he was all over the place on the bed trying to find duke & I got kicked in the eye with his foot. So, I decided to go ahead & get up as I knew I wasn't going to be able to lay down for another 30 minutes in peace. After Jonathan & I got our showers I got Coen dressed & ready to go. At this point Jonathan was getting ready to leave the house & I still had to dry my hair. We were both talking when we heard a big "bang". My first thought was that I had left Coen's bathroom door open and he had made his way in to play with the toilet and had slammed the toilet lid down. (We have had to keep the bathroom doors shut due to him playing with the toilet, toilet paper, trash can & pulling on the shower curtain) Jonathan went to check on him but Coen being in the bathroom wasn't the case. He was in the kitchen pushing around the kitchen chairs. He managed to push the chair over onto it's back onto the floor. So now we have a broken chair. The spokes came apart from the actual chair part. I don't know where he picked up rough housing with our furniture, but he's a little tomboy for sure....haha! Even his teacher at daycare Ms. "D" says he likes to push the classroom furniture around. Ms. "D" tells him " now Coen, we are not going to rearrange the furniture today". Toddlers, they are sweet & so fun to be around but they are mischievous and sneaky too. Here is proof of our broken chair. Grrr...just another item to put on the list to be fixed.

Here is Coen checking out his "uh-oh"

Mother's Day

me & my wonderful mom

what a cute little family

This is what Coen made for me at daycare with the help from his teachers. I love to receive handmade gifts from Coen because they mean the most to me but, the best gift I could ever ask for, for Mother's Day is Coen. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful son & feel so lucky to be his mother as I get to teach him, watch him grow & always be here for him.

It reads:

Everyday I am exploring
Touching everything I've found
I leave behind my little marks and handprints all around

You clean up those handprints
But someday when I'm grown
You'll wish you had just one handprint to keep for your own

I made this handprint for you
So that one day when I am tall
You'll remember what my hand looked like long ago when I was small

Playing with great grandma

The other night we went down to see Jonathan's grandparents, Clete & Peggy. Coen has become a huge fan of being outside, so for the most part of our visti we were all out playing in the yard. Well, I should say Coen & his great grandma were the one's kicking the ball around, I was just trying to capture the moment with pictures.
